Job Summary:

You will be responsible for leading the procurement activities for the Group, which includes project, retail, and manufacturing businesses. You will also focus on strengthening the Group procurement policies and procedure to ensure transparency of procurement process, effective sourcing to achieve cost reduction, strengthen supplier base, and risk management for effective procurement decision making, and to meet customers and company’s quality, budget, and delivery timelines.

 

Job Description:

STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT:

  • Establish and enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing and supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, while reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain, both locally and overseas (China).
  • Identify opportunities to perform high-volume purchasing across the companies subsidiaries with high product variety to reduce procurement costs.
  • Negotiate for lowest cost, volume purchase discount and ensure continuous cost reduction from vendors.
  • Lead and manage contract and price negotiations to achieve best pricing and contribute to the continuous cost saving initiatives.

 

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT:

  • Oversee supplier selection process based on price, quality, delivery performance, support capacity and reliability.
  • To review and qualify suppliers in accordance with ISO guidelines and recommend appointment and / or removal of suppliers from approved suppliers list.
  • To resolve supplier problems related to quality, performance, and service level.

 

POLICIES, SOPs & SYSTEMS:

  • Establish, align, and manage the procurement policies and procedures (P&P) that conform with company practices and authorities' requirements.
  • Establish essential guidelines for approving purchase orders, set purchasing policies, manage inventory, budget for materials.
  • Establish an efficient monitoring system for all procurement activities across the Group; ensure that the procurement process and documentation are properly executed and operationalized.
  • Further develop and implement KPI systems to monitor performance of the procurement activities and to foster the digitalization of procurement processes.

 

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT:

  • To guide and lead the team in exercising and to achieve high integrity level within the Group Procurement team and all vendors.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit to identify areas of weakness and ensure procurement controls are put in place.
  • Where required, implement and ensure compliance on all policies and procedures which are relevant and required by Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (QSHE) management system.

 

ESG (ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE):

  • Source and apply relevant green incentives, tax incentives and funding programmes to support the company’s ESG adoption.
  • Stay up to date on ESG regulations, standards, and trends and recommend changes to our procurement practices as needed to maintain alignment with industry best practices.

 

GENERAL:

  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring and developing direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
  • Timely management reporting.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration or any related field.
  • Over 10 years of working experience in a procurement function, with at least 3 years in a similar level role in the Kitchen Cabinet & Wardrobe, ID Fit-Out, Manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Possess strong hands-on procurement experience of direct and indirect materials, with experience in developing and expanding sourcing activities in the region especially China.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP/ERP and MS Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Robust understanding of strategic procurement, cost saving, price benchmarking & supplier development.
  • Assertive with strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct others according to company standards.
  • Knowledge of global sourcing and procurement strategies, tactics, processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Experience in development of policies and procedures
  • Adaptable, creative, collaborative, and able to think strategically.
  • Able to work under pressure, take initiative and manage and prioritize work independently.
