We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing technology organisation. You will work directly under the CTO to execute MHub's product and technology roadmap, overseeing a team of Technical Leads and a cross-functional engineering members. This is a people-first leadership role with significant technical breadth from core proptech platforms to commission engines, credit systems, and AI-driven features.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Own the end-to-end delivery of engineering sprints, release cycles, and platform milestones across all product squads
- Partner with the CTO and Product team to translate business requirements into technical strategy and executable roadmaps
- Drive engineering excellence through code quality standards, architectural governance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee production stability, incident management, and platform reliability across MHub's suite of products
People Management & Talent Development
- Directly manage and coach a team of Technical Leads fostering a culture of accountability and growth
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and development conversations aligned with MHub's GREAT values framework
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention of engineering talent; define team structure and capacity plans
- Identify skill gaps, build L&D plans, and champion a growth mindset across the engineering function
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering and Product, Business, and P&C stakeholders
- Facilitate effective collaboration across distributed squads working on Commission, CRM, E-Invoice, and Marketplace products
- Communicate engineering progress, risks, and capacity clearly to executive leadership and the Board when required
Process & Operational Excellence
- Establish and continuously improve agile development practices, sprint ceremonies, and project tracking standards
- Drive DevOps maturity, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure reliability in collaboration with the Senior DevOps Engineer
- Ensure engineering processes are compliant with relevant regulatory and security requirements in Malaysia
Must-Have
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a people management or technical leadership role
- Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Full Stack, Mobile, QA) of engineers
- Strong experience with web application development — familiarity with the tech stack used in MHub's ecosystem (Node.js, React, or similar full-stack frameworks)
- Demonstrated ability to translate product vision into engineering delivery plans with consistent on-time execution
- Strong communication skills and able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences with clarity
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in proptech, fintech, or SaaS platforms, particularly in areas of transaction processing, commission management, or marketplace systems
- Exposure to AI/ML product features or intelligent automation
- Familiarity with Malaysian tech industry norms, compliance landscape, and bilingual (English/Bahasa Malaysia) communication
