Job Summary
We are looking for a capable, hands-on Assistant HR Manager / HR Manager to lead the HR function at The Raw. and serve as the main HR representative for the company.
This role oversees the full spectrum of HR operations, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and effective people management across the organization. You will act as a strategic partner to management while ensuring day-to-day HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Leadership & Advisory
- Lead and manage overall HR operations and ensure HR practices are aligned with company direction.
- Act as a key HR advisor to management on HR matters including workforce planning, employee performance, discipline and policy.
- Provide guidance and coaching to HR team member(s) and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure HR policies, SOPs and documentation are updated and properly implemented.
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment activities including manpower planning, job postings, screening, interviews and hiring decisions.
- Monitor recruitment timelines and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
- Review and improve recruitment & onboarding processes to ensure consistency and quality.
3. Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary cases, grievances, counselling and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Act 1955
- Lead and manage overall HR operations and ensure HR practices are aligned with company direction.
4. Payroll, Statutory & C&B (End-to-End Payroll)
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll to ensure payroll is accurate, timely and compliant.
- Ensure statutory submissions and reporting are completed (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB/MTD).
- Review payroll records including allowances, deductions, overtime, unpaid leave and claims.
- Liaise with Finance, auditors and relevant authorities on payroll/statutory matters.
- Manage and oversee employee compensation & benefits including staff insurance, medical coverage and HR benefits administration.
- Liaise with insurance provider/broker on enrolment, renewals and benefits-related matters.
- Maintain payroll/HRIS system efficiency and support improvements (BrioHR experience is a plus).
5. Training & Development (T&D)
- Identify training needs and support planning/execution of training & development initiatives.
- Coordinate internal/external training programs and monitor effectiveness.
6. HR Budgeting & Reporting
- Support HR budgeting activities including training budget, engagement/wellness programs and HR operational costs.
- Prepare HR reports and analysis for management when required.
7. Employee Engagement & Wellness
- Plan and support employee engagement initiatives, staff welfare and wellness programs.
- Promote positive workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management / Business Administration or related field.
- Proven HR experience
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia Labor Laws & Employment Act 1955.
- Strong experience in: payroll & statutory compliance (EPF/SOCSO/EIS/PCB), employee relations, recruitment & onboarding, HR operations & reporting
- Experience leading/supervising a team is required.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle confidential matters professionally.
- HRIS / payroll system experience (BrioHR is an added advantage)
