Role Purpose

Leading the implementation of training, coaching and support strategies for Program Duta Guru participants in partnership with key stakeholders at district,state and federal levels, to ensure their development as competent and committed educators and future STEM leaders, driving student and systemic impact across Malaysia’s education system. starting from within classroom practices towards wider school community and district/ state levels

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Implement and monitor training and coaching strategies and support systems to ensure participants develop instructional competencies and leadership capacity that align with Program Duta Guru’s objectives and Teach For Malaysia’s vision.
  2. Manage, coach, and develop the Coaching and Support team — including Programme Coordinators — to deliver effective and participant-centered coaching and mentoring support, in collaboration with Design and Training Team
  3. Strengthen collaboration with relevant stakeholders at schools/district/state level to ensure cohesive and impactful development experiences for participants within Regions as well as across Regions
  4. Oversee the tracking and evaluation of participants growth, satisfaction, and retention through data-driven insights, and apply findings/initiatives to enhance training and coaching, mentoring and learning support interventions in collaboration with the Program Duta Guru Leadership Team.
  5. Foster a sustainable, collaborative, and high-performing Coaching and Support team, with a culture aligned with Program Duta Guru’s goals and Teach For Malaysia’s core values.
  6. Support programmatic alignment and decision-making as part of the Program Duta Guru leadership team, contributing to the delivery of participant, student, and systemic impact, as well as an integrated exit strategy in the final phase of programme implementation/ intervention
  7. Manage budget, manpower and other resources with the leadership team to ensure smooth execution within the Programme and Org-wide vision and mission while maintaining a focus on quality and outcomes.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pedagogy and teaching practices aligned with student-centered learning outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of change management strategies
  • Ability to manage projects, develop and execute systems for progress monitoring and data-informed support strategies.
  • Skilled in relationship-building with internal and external education stakeholders, including mentors and schools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent proficiency in English and strong proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and adaptable to using tech platforms such as Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, and Zoom.

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks
  • Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally

Experiences & qualification

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in education, including experience in coaching and mentoring teachers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field; coaching certification is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing project timelines, resources, and stakeholder engagement within the education sector.
  • Experience in monitoring impact against performance indicators, with an emphasis on educator development and student outcomes.
