Role Purpose

Gathering resources and building sustainable partnerships across various revenue streams to meet fundraising goals, whilst growing a diverse funding base that supports the Teach For Malaysia’s (TFM) vision and Programmatic goals.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Developing and executing strategies to maximise funding, achieve fundraising goals, and ensure long-term sustainability across corporate and foundation donors. This would include leading and overseeing activities in lead generation, cultivation, reporting and donor engagement activities.
  2. Committing to achieve ambitious revenue, donor quality and retention benchmarks to achieve both immediate and long-term fundraising goals.
  3. Tapping into various networks to increase the base of new donors
  4. Lead and manage the team to engage prospects and maintain donor relationships
  5. Work closely with Senior Leadership to leverage Board of Trustees in fundraising efforts
  6. Coordinating cross-functional collaboration with Programme teams in shaping programme design and outcomes aligned with donor expectations. Drive innovation in our fundraising strategy by continuously learning and enhancing current practices through market research, data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and strategic review.
  7. Ensuring strong governance and compliance of the donor management process with the TFM processes and policies.
  8. Managing team budget with a frugal, resourceful and strategic approach
  9. Develop a collaborative and engaged team environment which enables a high-performing team culture where the team can achieve the fundraising goals and advance their careers

  • Has had sectoral exposure to corporates/foundations Proven success or strong interest in fundraising, sales & marketing, business development or customer management
  • Ability to design and execute strategies to achieve ambitious revenue, donor quality, and retention goals
  • Expertise in engaging with prospects, maintaining donor relationships, and ensuring ongoing donor satisfaction to drive retention.
  • Experience in project management and ability to manage resources, including staff, time, and budgets, to support fundraising efforts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; can speak compellingly about our organisation, mission and goals and has a mature presence

Experiences & qualification

  • At least 5 years of experience in non-profit or partnership management
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field
  • Strong written and verbal skills and excellent proficiency in English and basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia
  • Had prior experience using MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel extensively.
  • Having prior experience using technology platforms such as Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, and Zoom is a plus.
