Role Purpose

Driving the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Teach For Malaysia’s Fellowship selection model to ensure the identification of Malaysia’s most promising future leaders. The role ensures rigorous, efficient, and candidate-centered selection processes that maintain high industry standards while supporting the organisation’s goal of recruiting 2,200 Fellows by 2030.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Lead the execution of the Fellowship selection process, overseeing application reviews, phone screens, assessment centres, and final offers.
  2. Manage and coach a team of full-time staff and part-time selectors, ensuring high performance, scalability, and a strong feedback culture.
  3. Ensure candidate experiences are smooth, transparent, and aligned with TFM’s mission throughout the selection journey.
  4. Leverage data and trends from Salesforce and other systems to analyse performance, track pipeline progress, and deliver selection outcome reports.
  5. Innovate and refine selection tools, methodologies, and processes to uphold rigor, efficiency, and fairness at scale.
  6. Collaborate with the Recruitment team to create strong feedback loops, strengthening sourcing strategies through insights from selection outcomes.
  7. Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and education partners, to support recruitment and selection objectives.
  8. Support the Head of Talent Acquisition in planning, reporting, and strengthening organisation-wide talent strategies.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Strong experience in end-to-end recruitment/selection processes, including assessments, interviews, and competency-based evaluations.
  • Skilled in managing high-volume selection cycles with efficiency, accuracy, and strong candidate experience.
  • Proficient in data analysis and able to use systems like Salesforce and dashboards (Power BI, Google Data Studio, etc.) to monitor and improve processes.
  • Experienced in designing and implementing selection tools such as behavioural interviews and assessment centre exercises.
  • Strong project management skills and able to coordinate multiple cycles, events, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiar with knowledge management systems and continuous process improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management, especially working with cross functional teams.
  • Skilled in report writing and presenting insights to inform decision-making and strategy.

Experiences & qualification

  • Minimum 4 years of professional working experience, preferably in recruitment, selection, or assessments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Experience managing people, volunteers, or external assessors is preferred.
  • Experience engaging with government agencies or large institutional stakeholders is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, and recruitment platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Confluence).
  • Willing to travel domestically (and internationally if required), including evenings/weekends during peak recruitment/selection cycles.
