Role Purpose

Lead the training and development of participants in our two-year Fellowship programme, equipping them to become impactful leaders and advocates for educational equity.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Lead the strategic direction of the Fellowship Training and Support team by designing programme vision, goals, structure, and budget to ensure alignment across diverse Fellowship pathways.
  2. Build, manage and develop the Training and Support team to deliver high-quality coaching and training that equips Fellows to achieve transformational student and leadership outcomes.
  3. Ensure programme quality and effectiveness by supporting team members in implementing aligned frameworks for training, coaching, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).
  4. Build and sustain key partnerships with Fellows, internal stakeholders, partner schools, Ministry of Education stakeholders at all levels, as well as other education sector allies, to build trust, address concerns and support successful programme implementation.
  5. Foster a sustainable and values-aligned team culture that champions personal development, accountability, and a focus on transformational student impact.
  6. Collaborate cross-functionally with the Fellowship Leadership Team to ensure a seamless experience for Fellows across all touchpoints of their two-year journey.
  7. Serve as a member of the Extended Leadership Team contributing to TFM’s broader strategic vision and cross-functional collaboration.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Strong programme and adult learning design capabilities, with the ability to develop and align training, coaching, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) structures to Fellowship outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams, managing diverse portfolios, large scale initiatives and building systems that support team effectiveness.
  • Ability to strategically engage and manage external stakeholders, including government agencies, schools, and education partners, to secure buy-in and resources.
  • Strong data interpretation and impact evaluation skills, using insights to inform decisions, adapt strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in budget planning and resource allocation within programme delivery contexts.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (e.g. Google Suite, Salesforce, Confluence, Power BI, Zoom) and a growth mindset in learning new platforms and systems.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage risks, with strong situational awareness and sound judgment in fluid or high-stakes environments.

Experiences & qualification

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in education-related field or as a professional teacher is a must, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Experience designing and implementing education related programme strategies.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, particularly with government, education partners, and community leaders.
  • Experience in leading education transformation projects/initiatives in the public education system preferred.
  • Experience working in primary or secondary setting is preferred.
  • Experience working with Teach For All network partner organisations or Alumni of Teach For Malaysia / Teach For All network partners preferred.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia; fluency in Malay is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including weekends and on-site training over extended periods of time when required.
