Reporting Line: Head of Community Mobilisation

Role Purpose

Drive TFM’s student leadership strategy through developing effective systems for implementation and measures to enable student impact across all TFM programmes.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Review and maintain the alignment of the Student Leadership Strategy across all student programmes.
  2. Develop strategies and initiatives across all student leadership projects that advocate for and elevate Student Voice as a central element of leadership development and character building.
  3. Establish an effective system and process to track, monitor and evaluate the progress and outcome for both Student Leadership Strategy as well as students progress in order to produce a holistic Impact Report of all student leadership projects and the Student Leadership Strategy. 
  4. Assess and oversee the design, implementation and monitoring of student leadership projects to ensure high-quality delivery and maximize student leadership impact across all initiatives.
  5. Manage key stakeholders, including private sector funders and key public sector partners at the school, district, and state levels to build sustainable partnerships that enhance program reach, resource mobilization, and long-term educational impact.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Excellent project management skills (Organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail)
  • Ability to develop and grow long term partnerships with both public and private sector organisations to grow TFM’s impact
  • Strong programme development and management skills, especially in visualising, designing, planning and hosting community-based events and initiatives.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Willing and able to readily adopt and utilise any TFM database or technological platform / application (i.e. Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, Zoom, project management softwares etc.)

Leadership competencies: 

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks
  • Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally
  • Ability to be adaptable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and stakeholders
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and partnership with external stakeholders, teachers, students and volunteers
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Strategic planning and execution by aligning the team on a vision of success, planning strategically and monitoring progress systematically
  • Ability to strategically embed a sustainable team culture that values both development and performance against ambitious goals

Experiences & qualification

  • At least 6 years of working experience in the education field with experience designing and implementing student programs.
  • At least 2 years of experience in leadership roles, managing teams across different portfolios and programme management 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree qualification
  • Strong written and verbal skills and excellent proficiency in English and intermediate proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia
