Reporting Line: Individual Giving Manager

Role Purpose

Cultivating and managing relationships with donors in order to raise funds for the operations of Teach For Malaysia. The role will assist in enabling TFM to scale to its aspiration of mobilising a critical mass of 30,000 transformational leaders who will work collectively towards ending education inequity by 2030.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Build and expand a diverse portfolio of individual donors and partners, with a focus on securing unrestricted funding to ensure long-term sustainability
  2. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance fundraising efforts and align strategies with organisational goals.
  3. Develop and execute targeted fundraising campaigns that engage individual donors, foster meaningful relationships, and promote unrestricted giving
  4. Analyse market trends to identify growth opportunities in High Net Worth and Mass Giving streams, ensuring continuous donor base expansion
  5. Implement lead generation and donor stewardship strategies to nurture long-term relationships and reduce donor churn
  6. Design and execute an omnichannel donor acquisition strategy to grow recurring donations through various engagement platforms
  7. Ensure efficient handling of administrative tasks, including receipting, donor stewardship, and logistical support for fundraising events

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  1. Skilled in managing fundraising events, including logistics, booth setups, and donor engagement activities
  2. Experience in using CRM tools for donor management and reporting
  3. Experience in developing and executing fundraising strategies 
  4. Skilled in building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders
  5. Experience with donor segmentation to tailor approaches based on giving levels
  6. Proficient in using data to drive decisions, track donor engagement, and evaluate the success of fundraising campaigns

Leadership competencies:

  1. Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks

Experiences & qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in any stream
  • Strong written and verbal skills and excellent proficiency in English and basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia
  • Had prior experience using MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel extensively.
  • Having prior experience using technology platforms such as Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, Zoom is a plus.
