Reporting Line: Duta Guru Community Manager

Role Purpose

Support the growth, engagement, and sustainability of the Duta Guru Community — a network of STEM educators and leaders dedicated to advancing student outcomes and driving change in Malaysia’s education ecosystem. This role will focus on developing resources, executing community initiatives, engaging Duta Guru in PDG events and delivering operational support to strengthen the Duta Guru Community and its alignment to Teach For Malaysia’s mission.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies for community sustainability and engagement — Lead the design of community-building strategies aligned with organisational vision.
  2. Facilitate and deepen strategic partnerships — Build and manage high-value relationships with education stakeholders to enhance programme outcomes.
  3. Design and deliver leadership development resources — Create and iterate on leadership curriculum, training frameworks, and mentorship models.
  4. Lead high-impact community initiatives and events — Oversee concept development, planning, and implementation of key engagement efforts.
  5. Manage funding and reporting to Yayasan PETRONAS — Ensure financial accountability and articulate the impact of funding through structured reporting.
  6. Analyse data and provide strategic insights — Lead the synthesis of feedback and risks into actionable recommendations for programme improvement.
  7. Drive CCOL and Duta Guru milestone achievement — Own planning and execution to meet strategic milestones, collaborating with internal and external partners.
  8. High-performing in a social and fast-paced environment — Demonstrate proactive communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and presence in high-stakes, collaborative contexts.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Proven capability in managing budgets and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Skilled in designing and facilitating leadership development sessions suitable for educators.
  • Willingness and ability to travel independently to multiple regions across Malaysia.
  • Excellent proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite, and willing to adopt platforms such as Confluence, Salesforce, and Zoom.

Experiences & qualification

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, education or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using digital collaboration platforms such as Google Suite, Confluence, Salesforce and Zoom is an advantage.
