Role Purpose

Support in designing, leading and continuously driving improvement to the Teach For Malaysia student leadership projects which empower students leadership.

Principal Accountabilities 

  1. Collaborate with the Student Mobilisation Project Coordinator to coordinate and deliver Student Leadership Programmes, virtual workshops, and training for the facilitators and volunteers.
  2. Provide operational and administrative support to the process of monitoring and tracking of students’ progress and achievement outcomes of the Student Leadership projects in order to produce impact reports of the Student Leadership projects.
  3. Contribute towards the improvement of student leadership modules to meet the diverse students needs.
  4. Support in both the delivery of leadership modules in onboarding and training sessions for students and also in measuring the impact of these modules.
  5. Collaborate with the team to diversify platforms for student voices to be heard both within and beyond the organisation in order to build their confidence and continuously elevate their leadership.
  6. Assist in keeping student alumni engaged in Teach For Malaysia’s mission and leadership movement so that a community of student leaders is established to sustain the efforts of student leadership impact. 
  7. Partner with the Student Mobilisation Project Coordinator in engaging with stakeholders including TFM partners, Fellows, students, schools, teachers, community leaders and volunteers to ensure the successful implementation and inclusive participation in all Student Leadership projects.
  8. Lead ad-hoc, small-scale projects or initiatives as assigned, contributing to the enhancement of student leadership impact.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Strong project management skills (Organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail)
  • Basic knowledge of programme design
  • Clear and confident communicator to be able to represent student voices with clarity and conviction
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders, teachers, students and volunteers
  • Excellent proficiency in Google Suites products such as Google Documents, Google Sheets and Google Slides.
  • Willing and able to readily adopt and utilise any TFM database or technological platform / application (i.e. Confluence, Salesforce, Zoom, project management softwares etc.)
  • Basic experience with data analysis and data visualisation will be an added advantage to be able to track, measure and present students progress.

  • Understands youth leadership development and is committed to nurturing student voice, confidence, and agency.
  • Ability to empathise with students from diverse backgrounds and academic levels in order to tailor the projects to meet the diverse students needs.

Experiences & qualification

  • Fresh graduates with strong leadership experience will be considered 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree qualification
  • Strong written and verbal skills and excellent proficiency in English and basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia
  • Experience with either leading or participating as a camp committee, running workshops or events for students, will be an added advantage.
