Role: Finance & Operation Associate/Senior Associate

Start Date: Immediate

Employment Type: Full time, 1-Year Contract (Renewable)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Reporting Line: Finance & Reporting Manager

Role Purpose

Ensures operational excellence of all finance reporting and administrative functions to strengthen organisation sustainability, effectiveness and governance.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Generating and maintaining accurate monthly financial reporting and accounting records on a timely basis.
  2. Ensure the timely processing of invoices, disbursements, and raising of donor invoices in the accounting system to accurately record transactions within the correct reporting period.
  3. Reconcile all monthly donation revenue records to source files to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  4. Ensure the implementation and compliance of financial policies and procedures to maintain strong internal control and governance in all financial transactions.
  5. Assist with the preparation and handling of the end-to-end process of annual financial audit and the annual budget preparation process.
  6. Monitor and update the financial performance of the project teams against the approved budgets in order to provide insights that support team leads in effective budget tracking.
  7. Support the broader Finance and Operations team in implementing functional projects and activities to enhance the employee engagement and operational efficiency.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Advanced finance/accounting/bookkeeping knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the budgeting process
  • Ability to effectively monitor cost performance and budget utilization.
  • Tech-savvy: Familiarity with SQL or other accounting software and good with Google Suite and Microsoft Excel, Doc and Powerpoint. to
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills required for financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail

Leadership competencies:

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks
  • Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally
  • Ability to be adaptable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment

Experiences & qualification

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting field, consultancy background would be an added advantage
  • Possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree in the Finance or Accounting field.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
