Job Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting

  • Review and approve monthly management and financial reports in compliance with MFRS/IFRS, Bursa Malaysia and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to Management to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis for the respective divisions.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit matters.

2. Tax Compliance

  • Oversee tax matters including corporate tax, SST, RPGT, withholding tax, transfer pricing and tax estimates.
  • Develop and implement tax planning initiatives.
  • Manage tax audits and investigations and liaise with tax agents and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow Projections

  • Review budget, forecast and cashflow projections from the compilation for all business unit.
  • Review business unit assumptions and submissions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Present budget, forecast, cash flow and financial analysis to Management.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide recommendations on key variances.

4. Treasury & Payment Processing

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity and funding requirements.
  • Ensure effective cash management and compliance with banking covenants.
  • Review and verify payment vouchers and approve payments up to certain amount, in accordance with the approved authority limits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and internal controls.

5. Process Improvement, Policies & Procedures

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend best practices for finance operations and reporting processes.
  • Support system enhancement, digitalisation, and process automation initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency of financial processes, controls, and practices across divisions.
  • Review and update the Group’s Limits of Authority (LOA) framework periodically.

Job Requirements:

  • Member of a recognised professional accounting body such as MIA, ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA, or ICAEW.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree (e.g. MBA or Master in Accounting/Finance) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior finance leadership role. Experience in property development, construction, education or other diversified business environments will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, taxation regulations, Bursa Listing Requirements, and corporate finance practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
