Job Summary

As we continue expanding our Japan business, we are looking for a bilingual Project Manager who can bridge Japanese clients and our regional/global teams. The ideal candidate independently drives projects forward while balancing client expectations, technical constraints, delivery timelines, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects for payment and fintech solutions
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables with technical understanding
  • Coordinate internal teams: development, QA, infrastructure, operations, and business
  • Track action items and ensure timely follow-up with all stakeholders
  • Identify risks and proactively escalate issues when necessary

2) Client Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Japanese clients and partners
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops in Japanese and English
  • Translate business requirements into structured implementation plans
  • Prepare and review project documentation, meeting minutes, reports, and presentations to communicate externally and internally
  • Support UAT, production rollout, deployment, maintenance and post-launch coordination

3) Cross-functional Coordination & Documentation

  • Collaborate with Malaysia based development teams
  • Coordinate with external clients
  • Align technical constraints with client expectations
  • Prepare and maintain: requirement documents, project schedules, status reports, issue trackers, release notes, operational documents, and Root Cause Analyses (RCA)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Native-level Japanese communication skills
  • Business-level English proficiency
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management, PMO, or implementation management
  • Solid understanding of all development phases (requirements → dev → testing → UAT → release) with ability to coordinate stakeholders across each
  • Ability to understand Japanese enterprise client expectations in software development
  • Foundational knowledge of system development (APIs, infrastructure architecture, etc.)
  • Experience working with external clients or enterprise stakeholders
  • Strong logical thinking and structured communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
  • Ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving attitude

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in fintech, payment, banking, SaaS, or system integration projects
  • Experience working in multinational or startup environments
  • Knowledge of payment concepts: credit card acquiring, QR payments, SoftPOS, EMV, PCI/security compliance
  • Experience with API-based projects, mobile applications, or hardware terminal deployments
