This role is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with key merchants, ensuring a positive and productive partnership that drives transaction volume, optimizes revenue, and strengthens customer loyalty. The responsibilities involves identifying and onboarding new merchants, maintaining existing relationships, and delivering a high level of service to support the merchant’s business growth through various payment solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and a deep understanding of merchant acquiring and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key merchants, serving as their primary point of contact for all acquiring-related needs.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with merchants to understand their requirements and ensure they are fully satisfied with the services provided.
  • Proactively manage and resolve issues, ensuring timely follow-up and providing effective solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.

Business Development

  • Identify new merchant opportunities within the target market and drive initiatives to onboard them onto the acquiring platform.
  • Collaborate with internal business team to cross-sell and upsell additional payment solutions, increasing transaction volume and maximizing revenue.
  • Develop customized merchant solutions and work with internal teams to implement and optimize these solutions for individual merchant needs.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyze merchant transaction data, revenue performance, and key metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on merchant performance, service usage, and revenue generation, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards, monitoring merchants’ adherence to policies and addressing any concerns.

Market and Industry Analysis

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological developments within the payment and merchant acquiring space.
  • Provide insights and feedback to the product development and marketing teams to help shape future product and service offerings.
  • Participate in industry events, networking, and conferences to represent the company and establish thought leadership.

Collaboration and Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, risk management, and technology, to ensure smooth delivery of services to merchants.
  • Support the merchant onboarding process, ensuring a seamless experience from contract signing to live transaction processing.
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional strategies for merchants.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in merchant acquiring, payments, or financial services, with a proven track record in relationship management or sales.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing and merchant acquiring solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and present information effectively.
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on customer service and relationship building.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with digital payment technologies and emerging trends in fintech.
  • Experience in working with high-volume merchants, especially in sectors like retail, e-commerce, or hospitality.
  • Proficiency in presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides)
