Role Purpose:

The Manager, Fintech Business Development & Partnership manages Setel’s commercial engagement across DuitNow, payment gateways, acquiring banks, and adjacent payment infrastructure partnerships by coordinating commercial agreements, supporting revenue delivery, and maintaining alignment across key payment ecosystem relationships. The role drives execution of fintech commercial initiatives, supports payment infrastructure integrations and partnership activities, and ensures commercial arrangements remain operationally effective, commercially sustainable, and aligned to Setel’s fintech objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the commercial development and revenue performance of Setel's DuitNow partnership, payment gateway relationships, and adjacent payment infrastructure arrangements, by coordinating commercial activities, partnership execution, and revenue-linked initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Work directly with PayNet and related payment ecosystem stakeholders to coordinate participation activities, commercial discussions, operational alignment, and payment infrastructure initiatives linked to DuitNow participation.
  • Support Setel's commercial position within the DuitNow ecosystem proactively, ensuring that as PayNet evolves the framework, Setel's commercial interests, product capabilities, and revenue model are represented, protected, and positioned to benefit from the infrastructure's growth.
  • Manage commercial discussions and agreement renewals with payment gateway providers, acquiring banks, and payment network partners by preparing commercial inputs, aligning stakeholders, and coordinating execution activities.
  • Drive payment partnership initiatives and fintech commercial programmes by coordinating partner activities, supporting implementation of integrations, and identifying opportunities to strengthen payment ecosystem participation and commercial performance.
  • Monitor revenue performance linked to the DuitNow and payment infrastructure portfolio in full, tracking performance against plan, identifying risks and commercial gaps early, and executing the interventions needed to close them.
  • Execute the fintech commercial strategy developed by Commercial Strategy for the payment infrastructure segment, translating growth frameworks and investment appraisals into live agreements, active integrations, and revenue-generating payment network relationships.
  • General Responsibilities: All employees are required to ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements. All employees are expected to assist with tasks, projects, and other duties related to the role, as and when deemed necessary.

You're a great fit if you have:

  • 7–10 years of experience in fintech partnerships, payments, commercial strategy, or financial ecosystem roles.
  • Strong experience engaging with PayNet, banks, payment gateways, or payment networks.
  • Experience negotiating infrastructure-level commercial agreements.
  • Proven experience managing revenue targets within fintech or payments ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia’s digital payments and regulatory landscape.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
