Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager, People Strategy is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s people agenda, ensuring alignment between business priorities and human capital strategies. This role leads the design of people initiatives, workforce strategies, and organizational development (OD) programs that drive performance, capability building, and employee experience. The incumbent partners closely with Head of Departments, Leadership Team, and PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) HR to deliver initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

In this role you will:

  • Lead workforce planning processes according to business needs and operational costs, identifying critical skills and future talent needs; whilst providing insights and recommendations on workforce trends, talent pipelines, and succession planning.
  • Drive key initiatives in organizational design, including structural adjustments and role definitions, to optimize efficiency and clarity. Lead comprehensive change management strategies, ensuring smooth transitions during periods of transformation by engaging stakeholders and mitigating resistance.
  • Partner with business leaders to design and implement talent development strategies that generate a healthy succession plan especially for critical roles, whilst promoting skills development across the workforce to ensure future readiness.
  • Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring equity, market competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Leverage HR analytics to generate insights that guide strategic decision-making, supported by dashboards and reports tracking key people metrics such as engagement, retention, and productivity, while continuously evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives and recommending improvements.
  • Drive the review, update, and alignment of HR policies with regulatory requirements, embedding compliance practices that mitigate Industrial Relations (IR) risks and safeguard the Company’s reputation.
  • General Responsibilities: All employees are required to ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements. All employees are expected to assist with tasks, projects, and other duties related to the role, as and when deemed necessary.

You're a great fit if you have:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in HR Strategy, Organizational Development, or Compensation & Benefits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Master’s degree / SHRM-SCP is a plus.
  • Compensation & Benefits, including but not limited to Market Benchmarking.
  • Strong knowledge of Organizational Development (e.g. Organizational Design, Change Management).
  • Familiar with Malaysian Labor Laws & regulations.
  • Skilled in data analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management & influencing skills at management level.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Decision-Making & Judgment: Ability to analyze problems by evaluating available information and resources; and develop effective, viable solutions to problems to help drive the effectiveness of the department and organization.
