Role Purpose:
The Assistant Manager, AML Compliance performs regulatory and operational strategizing to ensure Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd’s (SVSB) business complies with AMLA requirements, supporting the business in mitigating financial risks and fostering trust with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures, including those related to due diligence, sanctions screening, to reflect changes in regulations and best practices. Ensure that they are periodically reviewed.
- Perform sanctions screening and monitor financial transactions for suspicious activities and ensure proper reporting and documentation as per regulatory standards.
- Perform second-level review of due diligence and transaction monitoring for suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to demonstrate adherence to AMLA requirements.
- Provide AML training and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Provide oversight to a small team of analysts, ensuring quality and timely completion of reviews
You're a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Law, Business, or related field
- Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is a plus.
- Knowledge of sanctions screening and name screening processes
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in regulatory Compliance, AML and related areas.
- Experience with customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing due diligence (ODD).
- Strong background in conducting AML/CFT risk assessments and investigations.
- Hands-on experience with AML monitoring and screening mechanisms.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and record-keeping requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide training on AML compliance.
