Role Purpose:
As the Senior Manager, Data Analytics & Strategy, you will lead Setel’s data and strategy teams to turn insights into practical business actions. You will elevate data capability beyond reporting, shaping strategic choices that influence product, commercial, and operational decisions. You will oversee market research, competitor analysis, opportunity assessment, and business model evaluation, building a strong fact base to guide senior leadership in high-impact decisions.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who is commercially strong, able to simplify complexity, confident in engaging at the executive level, and capable of managing and developing a high-performing data team. You will connect information across the organisation and turn it into recommendations that drive growth and long-term value
In this role you will:
- Develop Setel’s data-driven strategic blueprint by synthesizing market trends, competitor intelligence, and emerging opportunities to support growth.
- Lead evaluation of new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and ventures, to expand Setel’s market footprint.
- Oversee MVP and project prioritization, defining portfolio priorities and endorsing business cases to maintain a strong opportunity pipeline.
- Provide actionable insights to senior leadership by analyzing complex datasets and guiding strategic and operational decisions
- Build predictive models and analytics frameworks to enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and mitigate risks
- Drive Setel’s digital and analytics strategy, leveraging emerging technologies, benchmarking, and industry best practices to strengthen competitive positioning
- Engage with regulators, partners, and industry stakeholders to influence policy and foster collaborative innovation
- Manage, mentor, and develop the day-to-day operations of the data team, ensuring alignment with business priorities, fostering skill growth, and promoting a high-performance culture
You're a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics,Business or related disciplines).
- Professional certifications in analytics or technology (for example: Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, AWS or Azure data certifications) are an added advantage.
- Training or exposure in strategy, finance or business planning (for example: financial modelling, corporate strategy courses) is preferred.
- Experience in data analytics, business strategy, or management consulting, preferably in fintech or financial services.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with hands-on experience in market research, opportunity sizing, business case development, scenario planning, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), data governance, financial modeling, and analytics storytelling.
Technical/Functional Skills
- Strategic thinking, analytical mindset, decision-making, relationship building, negotiation & influence, leadership and mentorship.
- Broad to Complex: Navigate non-routine, ambiguous challenges across growth, partnerships, regulatory compliance, and resource allocation, using data-driven insights to develop actionable solutions.
