Introduced in July 2018, Setel is a mobile platform that aims to delight customers by innovating for better, inclusive mobility. Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists’ journey across fueling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases, and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate with engineers to understand and contribute to application features and APIs
- Work with product managers, senior engineers and team lead to understand application requirements, identify solutions, and determine feasibility & timelines
- Contribute to building and deploying microservices and APIs, as well as developing applications that depend on these services.
- Follow best practices alongside your team for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including process & conventions
- Write unit test cases and follow code quality across entire engineering teams
- Provide support for resolving customer issues and finding root cause
- Actively involved in team’s sprint and ceremonies
- Assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.
- Ensure adherence to the compliance of company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements.
You're a great fit if you have/are:
- A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
- Internship availability of 5-6 months
- Strong verbal and written communication skills horizontally and vertically
- Excellent problem solving capabilities and attention to details
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative engineering environment
- Basic understanding of backend APIs development, microservice architectures, scaling, and concurrency concerns.
- Some knowledge of Javascript and/or Typescript and/or Golang
- Document your APIs with OpenAPI specification / Swagger or a willingness to learn
- Understanding of Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB is a big plus
- Experience with the Nest.js / Express Framework is a big plus
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolset is a big plus
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
