Role Purpose:
The Head of AI & Data serves as the central figure responsible for delivering the data strategy across Setel and PDB, leading a team of Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers. The Head of AI & Data aligns the data team's priorities with the company’s business objectives, leveraging data-driven insights to support decision-making in improving both digital and non digital touchpoints across retail fuel/non-fuel business, payments, loyalty, and logistics sector.
In This Role You Will:
- Develop and drive execution of the data strategy and roadmap to align with business goals and create impactful, data-driven decisions.
- Lead and manage a team of Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers to ensure they meet their goals in delivering data solutions across the company.
- Translate complex business challenges into actionable data solutions, creating value for internal stakeholders through business intelligence insights and scalable data science models.
- Support the development of data science and analytics roadmaps to deliver continuous business value, with a focus on Customer Analytics, Machine Learning, and Statistical Models to enhance customer experience.
- Craft OKRs and business metrics to ensure alignment between the Data team, Product, and Leadership teams, measuring success effectively.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality reporting and BI components backed by data quality and reliability, to provide consistent business insights.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their professional skills and build a high-performing data organization.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements to maintain the brand’s integrity and regulatory standing.
You're A Great Fit If You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations
- Research, or a relevant quantitative field (advanced degree is a bonus)
- At least 10+ years of experience in data leadership, with 5+ years in people
- management
- Proven expertise in SQL, Python, or other data-centric programming languages
- Strong experience formulating data-driven solutions for business challenges
- Experience managing large data operations, ensuring data quality and reliability
- Experience in SQL and/or Python (at least one data-centric programming language) and an understanding of data architecture
- Solid knowledge of Data Science fundamentals, with proven experience formulating Data Science solutions to solve business problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex data insights and strategies across C-level executives, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to align data strategy with business objectives and translate technical jargon into actionable business insights
