Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists’ journey across fueling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases, and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.

Role Purpose:

The Head of Marketing leads the overall business marketing strategy, ensuring brand alignment with business goals and the seamless integration of marketing efforts across multiple channels. The Head of Marketing leads the development of brand positioning, customer engagement and digital marketing initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies in driving customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth, focusing on increasing brand awareness and customer engagement to position Setel as a leader in mobility and payment solutions.
  • Manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources and optimize spending to prioritize high-return activities in line with strategic objectives, while achieving marketing and business goals within budgetary constraints.
  • Lead and oversee the development of Setel’s brand identity though targeted campaigns that highlight Setel’s innovative offerings on Setel’s owned channels, partnerships, and paid media opportunities, in order to strengthen and differentiate Setel in the Fintech and mobility sector.
  • Implement data-driven marketing strategies through effective CRM, loyalty programs, and other channels to attract new customers and existing customers retention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams through integrated marketing campaigns that support new product rollouts and enhance customer experiences, to ensure unified approach to customer service, distribution, and communications.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team through fostering a collaborative environment where individuals are empowered to contribute to Setel’s success, while ensuring the team stays ahead of industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead and manage a network of strategic partnerships and external communications, including media relations, press releases and events, in order to expand marketing reach and ensure Setel is seen as a thought leader in the Fintech and mobility sector.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements to maintain the brand’s integrity and regulatory standing.

You're a great fit if you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or other relevant fields
  • At least 10 – 15 years of marketing experience, preferably in Fintech or financial services
  • Proven track record in digital marketing, brand management, and customer engagement
  • Proven leadership experience having built and led marketing departments in a marketing-oriented organization

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong customer marketing experience with demonstrated capabilities across the marketing mix with proven digital marketing, social media and brand and communication experience
  • Mastery of digital marketing tools and platforms with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify and action new marketing opportunities that create incremental revenue

Soft Skill Competencies:

  • Strong project management skills with collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • High adaptability and problem-solving skills to thrive in fast-paced environment
