Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists’ journey across fueling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases, and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.

Role Purpose:

The Commercial team owns all efforts to build and execute commercial models for Setel. This involves efforts to define, test and execute specific revenue models for different market segments by working closely with the cross-functional teams to solve pain-points for customers and merchants. Identifying pain-points and right-sizing the value proposition of the solutions which addresses these pain-points are key in building revenue models with strong traction.


The Head, Commercial will play a critical role in developing and implementing commercial strategies according to Setel’s goals and objectives, aiming to accelerate growth. The job also

involves efforts in conducting market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities for Setel. This role must always work closely with existing and potential clients to ensure their needs are being met.

In This Role You Will:

  • Establish and develop overall commercial strategy and secure approval from senior management.
  • Act to acquire new clients and manage existing client relationships that ensures future
  • profitability.
  • Build and develop a commercial team to support the overall commercial strategy and implementation.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate efforts across cross-functional teams to establish best contracting and commercial strategy for Setel.
  • Build, negotiate, secure and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders/partners.
  • Lead the contract execution, review all contract performance and provide recommendation for renewal, extension, closer out.
  • Lead sales and report analysis that give insights to partners in improving company performance via contracts established.
  • Resolve any arising issues related to contracts and commercial operations.
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Develop and assist in financial plans including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long term.

You're A Great Fit If You Have:

  • Senior Manager with 10-12 years of experience in Sales / BD / Commercial roles and experience managing/leading a team.
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients.
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
