Chief Financial Officer  

 

We are looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company from a financial perspective. You will be reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer and will be working alongside other C-Suite team members and take ownership of all company fiscal and regulatory matters. To do well in this role you should have experience as a CFO in managing complex financials of multi-companies and an extensive balance sheet.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Strategy:

·      As a business partner to the CEO, assess organisational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy

·      Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company strategic plan

·      Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and Board, and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

·      Engage the Board finance, audit, and investment committees around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery

·      Assist in establishing yearly objectives

. Ensuring financial efficiency and effectiveness through shaping the strategy for future growth and stability 

·      Driving company value and competitive advantage through the lens of finance

 

Executive Management:

·      Serve as a member of executive leadership team

·   Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution

 

Finance:

·      Plan, budget, control all financial and accounting activities of the company

·      Oversee cash, investment, and asset management

·      Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships

·      Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans

·      Ensure proper compliance with IFRS reporting

 

Planning, Policy, and Investor Relations:

·      Assist with fund raising materials and shareholders and directors reporting

·      Develop financial business plans and forecasts

·      Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team

·      Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections

·      Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.

 

Accounting and Administration:

·      Develop Management Reporting structures, including Management Reports with detailed explanations for variances and trends in the business

·      Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements

·      Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting

·      Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

·      Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns

·      Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

 

Information Technology (IT):

. Involved in IT agenda and adding value in increasing revenues, managing costs and profitability across businesses


Requirements:

·      University Degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting. An MBA or CPA is preferable

·      Experience on financial management position for at least 10 years

·      Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance Director/CFO position

·      IFRS experience and knowledge

·      Has presence to deal with Board members

·      Prior Corporate Finance experience is an advantage

·      Ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, formulate options, draw conclusions, submit recommendations, and convince others on course of action.

·      Proven ability to conceptualize, design and implement major projects and produce major/complex reports and recommendation

·      Proven project management skills and aptitude for coordination/facilitation of large groups.

·      Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to convey complex budget and administrative financial issues concisely to management and staff

·      Demonstrate ability to deliver real time data and support management at the Board level in making the best possible decisions, formulation of budget, investment program forecasts, and administrative financial issues, with particular emphasis on profitability forecasting and analysis

·      Strong problem solving, conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills

·      Proven people management skills, with ability to lead, coach mentor and develop staff

·      Driven, agile and digitally savvy

·      Entrepreneurial and enjoys start up environment and be part of their growth journey
