The Vice Principal assists the Principal in the administration of the school, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of educational programs, managing staff, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and the community. The Vice Principal also plays a key role in discipline, curriculum development, and staff evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Leadership & Curriculum Support:
  • Assist the Principal in implementing the school curriculum, academic policies, and assessment standards.
  • Monitor teaching quality, lesson planning, and classroom performance.
  • Support academic planning, examinations, and student assessment processes

  • Student Affairs & Discipline:
  • Oversee student discipline, behavior management, and welfare.
  • Handle student conduct issues, counseling referrals, and parent meetings.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Staff Management & Development:
  • Supervise teaching and non-teaching staff as assigned by the Principal.
  • Support staff performance evaluations, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and duty rosters.

  • School Operations & Administration:
  • Support daily school operations including timetables, substitutions, and school events.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Assist in managing school resources, facilities, and operational efficiency.

  • Parent & Community Engagement:
  • Communicate with parents regarding academic progress, discipline, and school matters.
  • Represent the school in meetings, events, and official functions when required.
  • Support positive relationships between the school, parents, and the wider community.

  • Leadership & Strategic Support:
  • Act as Principal-in-Charge in the absence of the Principal.
  • Assist in school improvement planning and policy development.
  • Support the implementation of school initiatives and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification and administrative credentials.
  • Proven experience in educational leadership or administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
