About the Technology Division

Building the backbone of Malaysia’s payment infrastructure. Led by Chief Technology Officer, Technology designs, evolves, and secures the always-on architecture that powers trusted, scalable digital payment services for the nation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and operation of PayNet’s critical e-payment infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational resilience.
• Oversee the management and optimization of VMware ESXi, RedHat Enterprise Linux, and fiber-channel storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC) to ensure stable and efficient infrastructure performance.
• Ensure robust data protection and business continuity by managing enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Veritas NetBackup and maintaining effective disaster recovery capabilities.
• Lead initiatives to enhance infrastructure efficiency through automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and implement advanced monitoring and observability solutions using platforms such as ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Ensure infrastructure security and resilience by managing responses to cyber threats, system vulnerabilities, and operational incidents while maintaining strong system integrity.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to systems engineering teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What will make you successful?

Must-have:

• Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments including VMware ESXi, RedHat Enterprise Linux, fiber-channel storage (NetApp/Dell EMC), and enterprise backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting using tools and languages such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, shell scripting, or similar technologies to support infrastructure deployment and management.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring infrastructure or systems engineering teams, with the ability to drive operational excellence and manage complex technical environments.
• Solid understanding of system security, monitoring, performance optimization, and incident management within mission-critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience supporting high-availability, large-scale, or mission-critical systems, preferably within financial services, payment networks, or highly regulated industries.

Advantages to have:

• Hands-on experience with monitoring and analytics platforms such as ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana for infrastructure visibility and performance management.
• Familiarity with infrastructure services such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, Postfix, Squid, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code platforms such as Jenkins and Terraform.
• Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure security practices, incident response processes, and regulatory or audit compliance frameworks.
