SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
A Technical Delivery Manager with a focus on Datalake projects, you will support the successful execution and delivery of our data lake initiatives. You will be expected to engage and conduct dialogues with colleagues and team members, aligning your work with the overall organization’s purpose and vision under guidance. Your role is key to supporting the planning, execution, and management of Datalake projects, driving them towards completion with Grit and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will appropriately share responsibilities within the team and receive the necessary support to deliver results. You will track your performance and progress against established Datalake goals, contributing to the department's overall performance.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop an understanding of underlying Datalake challenges and requirements, collaborating with the Product team and senior team members.
- Contribute to solutioning discussions and assist in dimensioning out the Datalake architecture under guidance.
- Help define project objectives, scope, and deliverables for Datalake initiatives.
- Leverage predefined project delivery structures and frameworks.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
- Accurately capture and publish timeliness of Datalake project progress, identify potential challenges and dependencies, and escalate them proactively to senior team members to ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to team members working on the Datalake, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Able to identify criticality of tasks against committed deliverables & impact, then help set clear expectations and provide regular feedback to junior team members to ensure any potential gaps are closed
- Demonstrate self-starter initiatives where knowledge gaps exist and willingness to learn from others and share key learnings and experiences with team members.
Resource Management:
- Able to understand intended outcomes, deliverables, work packages and tasks against priority and impact thereby, efficiently allocate and utilize resources for Datalake projects as directed, ensuring the right skills are applied to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with and offer support to colleagues across different teams involved in the Datalake ecosystem.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for Datalake project stakeholders, supporting effective communication under the guidance of senior team members.
- Provide clear, concise project status updates and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to provide relevant information to support colleagues in achieving specific Datalake goals.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks specific to Datalake projects and escalate them to senior team members.
- Support the implementation of mitigation strategies to ensure overall project progress.
- Ensure Datalake projects adhere to data privacy and security guidelines.
Cost Control, Documentation and Reporting:
- Support efforts to optimize spending to achieve Datalake project objectives efficiently.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of Datalake project requirements, specifications, and change requests leveraging on PayNet documentation practices e.g. Confluence and use of the right tools for maximum effectiveness.
- Be responsible for providing timely project statuses, updates of overall project workstream, supporting overall program initiatives under the wider Datalake and/or PayNet programs reports and updates for management and stakeholders.
- Own up to mistakes and proactively seek feedback to understand how to improve.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering).
- Some experience as a Technical Delivery Manager or in a similar role, with exposure to data projects, ideally with some understanding of Datalake concepts.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Understanding of AWS/GCP/AZURE and other cloud technologies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a team environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team goals.
- Basic problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Awareness of data privacy and security guidelines.
- Good proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
