SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The designated Network Engineer will be responsible to ensure efficient daily operations, maintenance, performance and availability of the Data Center and Campus networks. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network infrastructure and a passion for developing their skills in a professional environment.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively monitor network infrastructure daily to ensure optimal performance.
- Involved in network troubleshooting for Sev1, Sev2 and other daily operational issues. Identify and escalate any technical issue to senior engineer or immediate superior.
- Provide 1st level support by identifying and resolving network problems. Escalate, collaborate and follow-up diligently with ISP and vendors on network related issues until problem resolution.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users for network related issues.
- Collaborate effectively with Senior Engineer and participate actively in planning, preparation and implementation of new projects/enhancement.
- Assist in installation, configuration and maintenance of network equipment (router, switches, dns, wireless access points, etc)
- Schedule and apply on timely basis all vendor-supplied firmware patches and fixes to network devices to ensure the security and reliability of such devices.
- Collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and assist during the preparation of network disaster recovery for ad hoc and scheduled disaster recovery exercise for PayNet.
- Assist in the preparation of technical baseline document for network.
- Regularly update all the relevant Wiki’s, procedures, checklists and baseline documents.
- To participate in yearly audit exercises and ensure requirements are always adhered to. Ensure network compliance with relevant audit and regulations and maintain network security measures.
- To participate in other working groups of small projects undertaken by the division on issues with regards to Network Administration.

- Stay current by continuously learning and skill-up in current industry trends, best practices and emerging networking technologies.
- This role would require engineer to be on-call standby at least one week in a month. Able to handle escalation calls after office hours and during weekends/holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications & Professional Certification (Where relevant)
- Degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a System Integrator or Telco environment. Motivated and enthusiastic fresh graduates will also be considered for this position.
- CompTIA Network+,CCNA or higher certification
Working Experience
- Experience in the IT banking, Data Center and Telecommunications sector would be an added advantage
Other Additional requirements (where relevant)
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with either Cisco R&S, Juniper and DC hardware portfolio: Catalyst, Nexus 9K, ISR and ASR
- Knowledgeable on TCP/IP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, Load-Balancing, network security principles, wireless
- Understanding of network monitoring, troubleshooting and diagnostics tools
- Motivated and eagerness to continuously learn and skill-up on new technologies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
