SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Principal QA Engineer (JG9), you will lead the QA strategy and execution across multiple projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable software solutions. You will drive innovation in testing automation, performance testing, and CI/CD integration while mentoring a team of QA engineers. Your role includes improving test frameworks, identifying risk areas, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software quality and system reliability.
This position requires deep technical expertise in testing methodologies, automation frameworks, API validation, security assessment, and performance testing.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Test Strategy and Leadership:
- Define and drive the overall QA strategy and roadmap.
- Establish test standards and best practices for automation, security, and performance testing.
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business goals and technical requirements.
- Provides guidance on risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Test Execution and Automation:
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of automated test frameworks.
- Expand and refine automation test coverge using Python (pytest), Postman, and other frameworks.
- Define KPIs and metrics to measure test effectiveness and reliability.
- Ensure software releases meet quality benchmarks by validating CRs in UAT, staging, and production.
Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead defect triage sessions, providing deep analysis and resolution strategies.
- Track defect trends and proactively address recurring issues
- Drive continuous improvement in defect prevention techniques.
CI/CD & Security:
- Improve CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests with Gitlab workflows.
- Enforce security testing practices based on OWASP Top 10 for API and system protection.
- Lead initiatives to improve system reliability and resiliency through testing.
Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date QA documentation.
- Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to enhance software quality.
- Coordinate software releases, ensuring all CR items are validated in UAT, staging, and production environments.
- Mentor an upskill QA team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems Technology, or Software Engineering
- 8+ years’ experience in QA/testing, with a strong focus on automation and API testing.
- Proven leadership experience in driving QA strategies and mentoring teams.
- Experience in Financial Services and/or Technology sectors is a plus.
- Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
