SUMMARY 


Reports to Manager


The Senior Writer will be responsible for developing high-quality content that aligns with PayNet’s strategic goals and business priorities. This includes producing engaging write-ups for internal communications, thought leadership pieces, media releases, speeches, and content that extends beyond the scope of work handled by our PR agency. We are looking for a versatile storyteller with a background in media, journalism, or agency work who can adapt to different tones and styles while maintaining consistency in our brand messaging. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Content Creation & Development 

  • Write, edit, and proofread a range of content including articles, blog posts, press releases, speeches, newsletters, and social media posts. 
  • Develop creative concepts and scripts for internal and external videos, webinars, and other multimedia projects. 
  • Produce on-brand messaging for marketing campaigns, events, and other initiatives that require strong, clear, and persuasive communication. 


Support for Strategic Communications & Media Relations 

  • Collaborate with Strategic Communications to create thought leadership content, including op-eds, whitepapers, and opinion pieces, that position PayNet as a leader in digital payments. 
  • Work closely with Media Relations to draft press releases, media statements, and responses that align with PayNet's narrative and strategic goals. 
  • Assist in developing internal communications, including newsletters, employee updates, and key announcements, to ensure a cohesive voice across the organization. 


Editorial Leadership 

  • Mentor junior writers and contribute to setting content standards and editorial guidelines across the department. 
  • Ensure all content is polished, accurate, and consistent with the brand’s voice and tone. 


Research & Insight-Driven Content 

  • Conduct research and interviews to develop content that reflects the latest industry trends, insights, and innovations. 
  • Leverage insights from internal teams and external sources to produce data-backed content that resonates with target audiences. 


Content Performance & Optimization 

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content across various channels and suggest improvements to increase engagement and impact. 
  • Adapt content strategies based on analytics and feedback to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness. 


Key Requirements: 

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in content writing, copywriting, or a related role, preferably within financial services, technology, or a similar industry. 
  • Strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in media, journalism, or agency environments. 
  • Proven ability to create content that is clear, engaging, and aligned with brand strategy. 
  • Experience in supporting both internal and external communication needs, including thought leadership and PR content. 
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
