Principal Engineer - Planning and Delivery

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out the demand management and end-to-end IT planning & project delivery in accordance with the organization project life cycle. Build and manage relationships with key IT and Business stakeholders for successful delivery of demands and projects. 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship and Demand Management

• The liaison person between businesses and Technology division for all aspects matters not limited to demands, projects, production issues and fixes, etc.
• Assist to provide update and manage Stakeholders for critical production issue when required.
• The key gatekeepers for all demands from all divisions that require Technology involvements.
• Maintain, track, manage and priorities complex demands according to business strategies and resources availability.
• Promptly status reporting demands in pipeline as well as inflight projects.

Planning & Support

• Participate and support assigned secretariat duties and roles for ITSC, Standard & Architecture and Business Engagement.
• Actively participate in contributing to the improvement of IT operations, processes and policy for the department and division.
• Participate in annual IT budget planning. To plan and coordinate the yearly planning, arrange meetings will all the stakeholders and consolidate the costing for submission.
• Craft impactful presentations and videos for executive meetings and ability to convey complex technical information effectively.    

Project Management Office

• Collaborate with other project managers/ department leaders to prepare accurate and timely project status reports as required by management, business stakeholders, auditors, regulators, etc.
• Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining project management methodologies and standards across the Technology projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree with a minimum of 5 years working experience in IT environment, with majority experience in IT management, projects, process, change or business analysis role in service or vendor-based organisation or banks/ financial institutions.
• Strong English writing and communication proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or similar tool such as JIRA is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and video editing in creating impactful presentation is required.  
• Candidates with project management certifications (e.g., PMP) will be given preference.

Additional Requirements:

• Able to work with minimum supervision and under pressure.
• Able to effectively lead and manage a team of engineers and business analyst outside of direct reporting line.
• Able to work well with people at all levels, whether IT or non-IT
• Have good problem-solving skills.
• Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
