About ORA
At ORA, we believe that healthcare should be accessible, convenient, and deeply personal. We are building a modern digital experience that enables patients to access care on their terms, delivering high-quality, specialized treatments for chronic conditions.
As a vertically integrated telehealth platform founded in 2020, ORA is Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital health provider. We operate a shared core technology and services layer that powers our demographic-focused digital clinics across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with additional regional markets launching soon. Our growing portfolio of healthcare brands includes andSons (men’s health), OVA (women’s health), and Modern Molecules (online dermatology).
We are backed by a $10M Series A funding round, the largest investment for any digital health organisation in Southeast Asia, and we are expanding rapidly to unlock our next phase of growth.
Who This Role Is Best For
This position offers a fast-paced, focused commercial environment with a high degree of autonomy. We operate with a passion for progression and an energetic approach to new ideas and opportunities. This makes this role ideal for an ambitious, execution-oriented finance professional who is looking to accelerate their career, take real ownership of core accounting functions, and thrive in an agile startup environment without needing rigid corporate guardrails.
You will thrive here if you are:
- Meticulous & Organised: You have a natural eye for detail, take pride in clean ledgers, and understand that accurate numbers are the foundation of great business decisions.
- Commercially Curious: You look beyond the spreadsheets to understand how operational processes impact cash flow, revenue tracking, and overall business scaling.
- Tech-Savvy & Adaptive: You enjoy using cloud accounting platforms and automation tools to streamline workflows, remove manual friction points, and save time.
- Responsive & Reliable: You maintain a high level of urgency and attentiveness in all communications and tasks, particularly during month-end closing.
- Accountable: You operate with a natural owner-mindset, welcome open feedback, and are eager to learn from a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
Sitting within our core finance engine and reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient month-end closures.
In this role, you will:
- Own the Ledger: Prepare full sets of monthly management accounts and financial analysis in a timely and structured manner.
- Manage Cash Workflows: Review and process Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) transactions, ensuring proper coding, budget adherence, and timely collections.
- Support Compliance: Coordinate annual audit processes and tax filings, ensuring accurate handling of local GST/SST submissions.
- Drive Process Efficiency: Leverage cloud tools (such as Xero) and new software to automate manual accounting entries and help the team scale efficiently.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with operations and marketing teams to track spending, resolve billing discrepancies, and streamline cross-functional projects.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Professional Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in finance or accounting, ideally within a fast-paced startup, e-commerce, or retail environment.
- Systems Familiarity: Direct experience using cloud-based accounting systems, with a strong preference for Xero. Highly proficient in Excel and spreadsheets.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of local tax regulations (GST/SST), audit prep, and management reporting.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate financial data clearly to internal team members.
- Mindset: A disciplined executor who loves to learn, balances multiple deadlines easily, and moves comfortably between routine tasks and ad-hoc problem-solving.
- Regional Exposure: Experience across Singapore and Malaysia is preferred, which offers a great opportunity to develop broader regional exposure.
