As part of an ongoing fractional HR partnership, One People Team (OPT) is working alongside a growing organisation in Malaysia to scale its engineering and infrastructure capabilities.
The organisation has built several payment products widely used by Malaysians today and operates mission-critical systems that power financial transactions at scale. As the organisation continues to grow, they are looking for a Network Operations Manager to lead and strengthen their network infrastructure and operations.

About The Role
The Network Operations Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of corporate and production networks, including cloud services.
This role provides technical leadership to the Network Engineering team, drives automation, ensures compliance, and upholds operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with Security, Cloud, Application, Infrastructure, Audit, and Business teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient network services.

Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Management
- Manage and maintain corporate networks across Development, UAT, and Production, including ISP, firewalls, switches, routing, and VPN connectivity.
- Maintain asset inventory and ensure proper equipment placement and cabling in data centres.
- Configure and manage firewalls (routing, NAT, port access), switches (VLANs, LAG, ACLs), and VPN tunnels (IPSec, SpeedFusion).
- Oversee vulnerability management: firmware upgrades, patching, and device maintenance.
- Support network troubleshooting: packet loss, connection timeouts/refusals, routing issues.
- Implement and monitor network performance and alerting (e.g., SNMP).
- Manage network maintenance, upgrades, installations, and replacements, including out-of-hours support.
- Provide 24-hour network support and on-call rotation coverage.
Business Continuity & Deployment Support
- Manage BCP, DR, deployment, and go-live network activities.
- Ensure high availability during midnight/weekend operations and critical deployments.
- Assist in network troubleshooting during incidents and system failures.
Cloud & Security Management
- Manage corporate network and cloud services, including DNS, reverse proxy, and Anti-DDoS measures.
- Support compliance with regulatory frameworks and corporate certifications.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Network Engineering team to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Set objectives, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Application, IT Operations, Business Operations, Information Security, and Audit teams on network connectivity, troubleshooting, and compliance matters.
Strategy, Automation & R&D
- Design and improve network architecture for high availability and resiliency.
- Lead automation initiatives and Infrastructure-as-Code adoption.
- Conduct R&D on emerging devices, tools, and approaches to enhance network performance and reliability.
Key Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, Computer Networking, or related field.
- CCNA or equivalent certification; higher-level certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in computer networking, with hands-on expertise in network operations, architecture, troubleshooting, monitoring, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- At least 3 years of experience in team leadership and project delivery, managing technical teams and driving successful implementation of network initiatives.
- Proven experience managing corporate network infrastructure, including cloud environments, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and routing protocols.
- Demonstrated track record in project management and working within compliance or regulated environments.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols, NAT, IPSec VPN, and SNMP.
- Strong knowledge of network design, architecture, troubleshooting, and automation.
