IT TECHNICIAN
Department: Operations
Reports To: Lead, Field Engineer
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated IT Technician to join our Operations team. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting networking and communication equipment at customer sites across Malaysia.
This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates who are passionate about networking and IT infrastructure to gain valuable hands-on experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, configure, test, and commission networking and communication equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance at customer sites.
• Configure routers, switches, modems, and communication devices.
• Test and verify equipment before deployment.
• Prepare maintenance reports, service reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, project teams, and internal departments.
• Support project implementation and system integration activities.
• Handle RMA processes, spare parts replacement, and equipment verification.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment preparation.
• Provide technical support during office hours and after-office hours when required.
• Travel to customer sites throughout Malaysia as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, LAN/WAN, IP Addressing, Routing, and Switching.
• Basic understanding of routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently and work well as part of a team.
• Willing to travel nationwide for customer support and project assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal office hours, including night maintenance when required.
• Possess own transport (car preferred).
• Valid Malaysian Class D Driving Licence.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Knowledge of LTE/4G/5G communication devices.
• Experience configuring routers and networking equipment.
• Experience in field technical support.
• Basic Linux knowledge is an added advantage.
• Experience using remote access tools is an added advantage.
