Role Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across the company’s solar and renewable energy portfolio. This role leads high-value sales initiatives, manages key accounts, builds and mentors a high-performing sales team, and ensures alignment between sales strategy, project delivery, and corporate objectives.
The ideal candidate is able to work independently, possesses strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of solar PV and renewable energy solutions, and proven leadership experience within large-scale or fast-growing organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual revenue and margin targets.
- Identify new market opportunities across commercial, industrial, utility-scale, and/or residential solar and BESS segments.
- Drive pipeline development, forecasting accuracy, and long-term contract acquisition (PPA, leasing,etc.).
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to inform pricing and go-to-market strategies.
Business Development & Key Accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, investors, developers, and government or regulatory stakeholders.
- Oversee proposal development, tenders, RFPs, and bid submissions in collaboration with engineering, finance, and legal teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings to strengthen brand positioning.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Set clear KPIs, sales targets, and performance metrics, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline reviews, and skills development sessions.
- Foster a collaborative culture between sales, engineering, project management, finance, and operations teams.
Cross-Functional & Project Alignment
- Work closely with technical and project teams to ensure accurate solution design, costing, and risk assessment.
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to project execution, maintaining client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Governance, Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM systems, and internal controls.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy.
- Minimum 4 years of sales experience, with at least 2–5 years in a senior sales position or leadership role.
- Proven track record of closing deals in solar, renewable energy, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Experience working in or with EPC contractors, IPPs, developers, or energy service companies is preferred.
Technical & Commercial Competencies
- Understanding of solar PV systems.
- Excellent presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
