The Director of Special Projects is a high-level position responsible for overseeing and executing specific projects that are often complex, strategic, or outside the regular course of business. These projects can range from mergers and acquisitions to new product launches, organizational restructuring, or major system implementations.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies.
- Identify and help solve core problems and identify opportunities within business processes.
- Review and assess new business opportunities (acquisitions, new products etc) and develop robust financial modelling
- Work with other leadership to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress towards goals.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Follow up on and respond to inquiries on behalf of the Senior Leadership.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead meetings and workshops, ensuring all meeting contents remain focused.
- Provide support and oversight on special projects and initiatives.
- Identify and provide recommendations for improvements across the organization.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external parties.
- Oversee strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation.
- Allocate necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment and optimize resource utilization to achieve project goals.
- Assess risk, provide advice, and propose potential solutions and/or alternative business decisions.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
