We are seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented Freelance Finance Operations Assistant based in Malaysia to manage our daily financial records and General Ledger (GL). This is a fully remote, part-time position requiring roughly 10 to 15 hours per week. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that every transaction is accurately categorized, balanced, and recorded in our bookkeeping system and assist with client invoicing and collections.

- Engagement Type : Freelance / Independent Contractor
- Hours: 10 to 15 hours per week
- Fee Structure : RM15 to RM20 per hour based on experience
What you'll be doing?
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the General Ledger; record daily journal entries (debits/credits) and ensure accurate categorization across the Chart of Accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards against ledger balances to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Accounts Receivable & Payable: Draft and issue client invoices; track payments and follow up on overdue balances. Review incoming contractor invoices and log them under accounts payable.
- Receipt Matching: Collect digital receipts from the team, verify details, and attach them as source documents to their corresponding ledger entries.
- Suspense Account Review: Flag and isolate unusual or unidentifiable transactions into a suspense account for management review.
What we are looking for?
- Located in Malaysia with a reliable internet connection.
- 1–3 years of experience in basic bookkeeping, accounting, or as an accounts clerk.
- Strong understanding of General Ledger principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Exceptional attention to detail accuracy with numbers and data entry is critical.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
