Job Overview
The Assistant Centre Manager supports the Manager of the Student Recruitment Department in overseeing the operations, performance, and development of assigned University of Cyberjaya Recruitment Centres (UCRCs).
This role focuses on the regional execution of recruitment strategies, operational excellence, team leadership, and performance management to ensure enrolment targets are achieved in alignment with institutional goals and policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Strategy & Execution
- Support the Manager of the Student Recruitment Department in implementing short‑term and long‑term recruitment strategies across assigned UCRCs.
- Translate departmental objectives into actionable regional plans, targets, and operational priorities.
- Ensure regional recruitment activities are aligned with institutional goals, policies, and enrolment strategies.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of assigned Recruitment Centres to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Monitor regional work plans, recruitment activities, and operational timelines to ensure timely and effective execution.
- Coordinate with Admissions and Faculties to ensure a smooth and consistent enrolment process.
- Act as the primary liaison between regional centres and headquarters, ensuring clear communication of directives, expectations, and updates.
- Represent the University and UCRCs at education fairs, school visits, outreach programmes, and stakeholder engagements when required.
3. Performance Management
- Monitor recruitment performance across assigned centres, including lead generation, conversion rates, enrolment yield, and cost efficiency.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve recruitment outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall centre performance.
- Ensure enrolment targets are met while maintaining high standards of student suitability, compliance, and data accuracy.
4. Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Engagement
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and regional dynamics to support informed recruitment planning.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, schools, partners, and relevant external parties to strengthen recruitment reach.
- Support departmental initiatives to expand recruitment channels and improve regional visibility.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead, guide, and support regional recruitment teams in executing recruitment and outreach activities.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and monthly review meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of staff within assigned centres.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance‑driven team culture.
6. Reporting & Governance
- Prepare and submit regular reports on recruitment performance, operational issues, and improvement initiatives to the Manager of the Student Recruitment Department.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in reporting, documentation, and CRM data.
- Undertake other recruitment‑related or institutional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related discipline.
- Preferably 5 years of relevant working experience, including experience in student recruitment, admissions, sales operations, or higher education management.
- Proven experience in supervising teams and managing recruitment or sales performance.
- Strong understanding of student recruitment cycles, enrolment processes, and higher education market dynamics.
- Ability to analyse data, monitor performance metrics, and drive operational improvements.
- Willingness to travel and support regional recruitment activities.

- Experience managing recruitment centres or multi‑location teams.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on operational execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
