Job Overview
The Manager, Student Accommodation Services is responsible for the strategic and operational management of student housing facilities, including on-campus hostels and off-campus accommodations in Cyberjaya, Muar, Melaka, Manjung, and Sepang. The role ensures that students have access to safe, comfortable, and well-managed living environments that support their academic and personal development, while maintaining compliance with university policies and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Accommodation Management
- Oversee daily operations of university-managed hostels and off-campus accommodations.
- Coordinate housing arrangements for students during clinical postings across multiple locations.
- Manage room allocations and maintain accurate occupancy records.
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards.
Student Welfare & Support
- Serve as the primary contact for students regarding accommodation issues.
- Address complaints and resolve conflicts, ensuring adherence to hostel rules.
- Organize orientation sessions and foster a positive, inclusive living environment.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Prepare and manage budgets for accommodation services, including rentals and utilities.
- Monitor occupancy rates, revenue, and expenditure.
- Ensure timely collection of hostel fees and maintain accurate documentation.
Vendor & Facility Management
- Liaise with landlords, property managers, and service providers for off-campus housing.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs to minimize disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
Policy & Compliance
- Develop and enforce hostel policies, including disciplinary procedures.
- Ensure adherence to university guidelines and housing laws.
- Safeguard student privacy and confidentiality.
Emergency & Risk Management
- Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.
- Manage crisis situations such as medical emergencies, security breaches, or natural disasters.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Hospitality, Facilities Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in accommodation, property, or student services management.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Financial management and budgeting expertise.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and housing regulations.
