Job Overview
A Senior Lecturer in Public Health contributes to teaching, research, and leadership in areas such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, environmental health, and global health. The role supports medical and health sciences students in understanding population-level health issues and interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops in epidemiology, health promotion, biostatistics, and health systems.
- Integrate case studies on communicable and non-communicable diseases, health equity, and social determinants of health.
- Mentor students in research projects and public health fieldwork.
- Research & Scholarship
- Lead research programs in areas such as infectious disease control, health policy evaluation, or community health interventions.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Secure external funding for applied public health research.
- Administration & Leadership
- Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation in public health programs.
- Serve on faculty committees related to ethics, research governance, or community engagement.
- Build partnerships with ministries of health, NGOs, and international agencies.
Essential Qualifications
- PhD or DrPH in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in public health or medical education.
- Strong research record with publications and funded projects.
- Experience in curriculum design and academic leadership.
