ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - INTERNAL MEDICINE (FACULTY OF MEDICINE)

Job Purpose

This job is responsible for undertaking the teaching & learning activities of undergraduate students. This includes design and delivery of the curriculum and assessment of learning. The job is also responsible for student support& supervision and involves in research and administrative duties in the Faculty of Medicine.

Job Scope

Teaching & Learning in Internal Medicine

• ⁠He undertakes teaching and teaching-related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conducts classes/lectures, tutorials, and practical/ bed side teaching; consultation with students, invigilation, marking and assessment in Internal Medicine (Year 3 & 5)
• He conducts Clinical Skill training for year 3 & 5 students.
• He participates and contributes to high-quality assurance program and curriculum development.
• He plans and implements teaching strategies to optimise student learning as well as to motivate them.

Student Support & Supervision

• He is a mentor/ academic supervisor to a group/s of students.

Research

• He participates in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentation, journal publications and relevant community work.
• He supervised the undergraduate students in years 3,4,5 research evidence base medicine (REBM).

Administration and Other Activities

• He is a member of the Internal Medicine unit.
• Participate in continuous professional development activities.
• He is on the professional exam committee first professional, part 1 & 2 final professional exam.
• He is the internal examiner for first and part 1, 2 final professional examination.

Clinical services

• He provides clinical/patient care services at KKM facilities as and when requested by respective department.
