Overview

This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening the university’s research excellence and global visibility. The role requires driving impactful research outputs through high-quality publications, competitive grant acquisition, and strategic international collaborations. In addition, the incumbent will contribute to teaching and mentoring of students, while supporting research administration, compliance, and governance within the Research Management Unit.

Job Responsibilities:

RESEARCH (70%)

Research Paper Publication

  • Conduct research aligned with the Research Management Unit's objectives.
  • Publish a minimum of 12 research papers annually in high-impact Scopus indexed Q1 and Q2 journals to boost university visibility
  • Submit at least two manuscripts (review or research) monthly.
  • Undertake additional research tasks as assigned by the reporting authority

Grant Writing

  • Identify and apply for national and international research grants relevant to the university's interests.
  • Prepare and submit at least two grant proposals each quarter.
  • Secure a minimum or two international grants annually.

Commercial Projects

  • Identify collaboration opportunities with industry partners for commercial research projects.
  • Develop and facilitate at least three commercially viable research projects

International Collaboration

  • Foster partnerships with global researches, institutions, and organizations.
  • Pursue joint research projects, exchange programs, and other collaborative initiatives.
  • Establish a minimum of 10 research collaborations annually to enhance the university's global presence

Mentorship and Guidance

  • Provide mentorship to undergraduate, master's, and PhD students on research methodologies, writing techniques, and publication strategies.
  • Guide students in preparing research papers for reputable journals and conferences.

TEACHING (15%)

  • Support the faculty by engaging in teaching activities, including guest lectures or workshop facilitation on research methodology and publication best practices.
  • Assist in creating instructional materials and providing guidance to students on their research projects

RESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE WORK WITH R&D (15%)

  • Administrative Support
    • Assist in day-to-day administrative tasks of the Research Management Unit, including organizing documents, reports and other research materials.
    • Coordinate attendance at conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.

  • Compliance and Governance
    • Support the enforcement of university policies, guidelines, and regulations concerning research.
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of research proposal, grant applications, and ethics approvals.
    • Maintain accurate records for research compliance, including ethics approvals and IRB certifications.
