Job Summary:

The Management Trainee – Procurement will undergo a structured training program designed to provide hands-on experience in procurement operations. The trainee will be exposed to end-to-end purchasing processes including sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and compliance. This role aims to develop future procurement professionals with a solid understanding of purchasing strategies and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing of goods and services in alignment with company policies, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Support in negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Learn to process purchase requisitions, generate Purchase Orders (PO), and perform receiving entries (Goods Receipt Note – GRN).
  • Participate in vendor research and selection activities to evaluate best options for value and service.
  • Work closely with team members to improve departmental procedures and efficiency.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and industry standards.
  • Help maintain accurate procurement documentation, filing (both softcopy and hardcopy), and reporting.
  • Support vendor performance evaluation, including tracking delivery performance and contract adherence.
  • Conduct basic price comparisons and contribute ideas for cost saving and improvement initiatives.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and rotate within procurement-related functions as part of the trainee program.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks or assignments as instructed by the supervisor or management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with less than 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
