PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR BACHELOR DEGREE IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH (ODL)

Position Title: Program Coordinator (Bachelor Degree Occupational Safety and Health) (MQF Level 6)

Employment Type: Full-time contract basis

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator for Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative aspects of the OSH degree program. This includes curriculum development, student advising, accreditation compliance, and collaboration with faculty and industry partners to ensure program excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Program Management
   1. Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the OSH degree curriculum
   2. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (IOSH and JKKP or relevant local bodies)
   3. Coordinate course scheduling, faculty assignments, and teaching resources
   4. Monitor student progress, retention, and graduation rates, implementing interventions as needed
2. Student Support & Advising
   1. Serve as the primary academic advisor for OSH students, guiding them on course selection, career pathways, and certifications.
   2. Address student concerns, academic grievances, and provide mentorship
   3. Organize orientation sessions, workshops, and career development programs for OSH students.
3. Faculty & Stakeholder Collaboration
   1. Work closely with faculty to enhance teaching methodologies and program outcomes
   2. Liaise with industry professionals, and accreditation bodies to align the program with workforce needs
   3. Facilitate partnerships with organizations for internships, research, and employment opportunities
4. Administrative & Compliance Duties
   1. Prepare reports for institutional and external accreditation reviews
   2. Manage program budgets, resources, and grant applications (if applicable)
   3. Ensure adherence to institutional policies and regulatory requirements in OSH education
5. Program Promotion and Outreach
   1. Represents the OSH program at recruitment events, conferences, and industry meetings.
   2. Develop marketing materials and engage in student recruitment strategies
   3. Promote research initiatives and encourage student participation in OSH related projects

Requirements:

A Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) in the relevant field; AND

• A minimum of five years of relevant academic and research experience; OR;
• A minimum of five years of relevant industrial experience.
