Job Overview

Main role of QuaMEC is ensure and maintain high-quality academic programs in UoC. Through QuaMEC's two major services - managing quality management system (QMS) of UoC and coordinating accreditation of academic programmes by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) - the Centre provides coordinating and facilitating roles in assessing academic programs to meet quality standards; as well provision of techniques and tools to assist various academic programs and related support departments of UOC towards self-improvement

The executive / senior executive is expected to play crucial role in ensuring programmes in UOC obtain and maintain its accreditation with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, as well as to support various initiatives in ensuring high quality academic programmes in UOC

Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate communication and record-keeping on program compliance with Ministry of Education and Malaysian Qualification Agency requirements.
  2. Coordinate implementation of activities pertaining to external review of the institution and accreditation of academic programs, including:
    1. Manage databases for accreditation of programs and other QuaMEC's databases
    2. Coordinate schedule of accreditation visits, necessary documentations, preparations and other logistics for provisional accreditation and full accreditation of academic programs - in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
    3. Coordinate necessary documentations and logistics of professional programs audit by relevant professional bodies (e.g. Malaysian Medical Council, Pharmacy Board)
    4. Communicate to relevant stakeholders (internal and external - MQA) as necessary
  3. Safety, accuracy and communication of academic programme records:
    1. Manage safety of academic programme documentations (softcopy and hardcopy) - to ensure that the intellectual property of all UOC programmes is preserved
    2. Conduct internal checks before submitting documents to the MQA and external parties
    3. Prepare reports on accreditation status of UOC academic programme to highest authority in relevant University Meetings (Senate, UMC etc.)
  4. Assist in other responsibilities of QuaMEC, when required:
    1. Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015): assist coordination of annual internal quality audit and related activities
    2. UoC Strategic Planning Secretariat: assist coordination and documentation of UoC Strategic Planning
  5. Other duties as required by the Director of QuaMEC and University Management

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree in Education, Science or Medical & Health Sciences - with graduating CGPA of 3.5 and above
  2. Proficient in English (spoken and written), with excellent digital literacy (Word, Excel & related)
  3. Keen interest in academic management and its support services
  4. Experiences in handling of accreditation (MQA) documents and its related processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certified Officer in Quality Assurance of Higher Education (Completed Tiers 1-3 of training by MQA)
  2. Graduating CGPA (Bachelor Degree) of 3.7 and above / first class / honours
  3. Meticulous, hardworking and good team-player
