We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer (ETL) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL processes to ensure data integrity and availability. You will work closely with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in many technological areas pertaining to database technologies.
- Specialize in database topical areas such as logical database design and database development using Microsoft/Opensource technologies.
- Participate in defining and promoting best practices relating to database development to the organization.
- Work concurrently on several product development projects with development engineers to review and recommend possible optimizations to database design and development code.
- Perform analysis and reviews on complex applications being released into production.
- Provide input and execute on efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of our development projects.
- Investigate and analyze reported defects in a timely manner, and recommend solutions to these problems including code changes, data updates, or configuration modifications.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Must have 2 to above years of database related experience.
- Designed large-scale data models and relational database architecture.
- Experienced working with MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and other popular relational databases.
- Experienced in SQL coding and the design and implementation of stored procedures.
- Experienced with DTS/SSIS or popular ETL tools.
- Experienced with data design and modelling tools such as Power Designer.
- Experienced with indexes and query tuning.
- Possesses a solid understanding of distributed application and web application development relating to database technologies within a high-end environment.
- Understands multiple SDLC concepts, including waterfall and agile.
- Able to handle several projects simultaneously.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
