Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing financial closing activities, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Review account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for Bursa Malaysia announcements.
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.
• Review Annual Reports to ensure accurate, consistent, and compliant financial disclosures.
• Apply IFRS/MFRS standards to ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition.
• Liaise independently with external auditors and manage audit-related matters.
• Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and other ad hoc reports as required.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support financial governance initiatives.
• Prepare tax computations for review by tax agents.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports to Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission (SC), and MDEC.
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards and provide guidance on complex accounting treatments.

Requirements

• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Registered member of MIA.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in an audit firm.
• Experience in Financial Accounting, General Ledger, or Cost Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/MFRS, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
• Sound understanding of accounting treatments and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Knowledge of Corporate Tax, SST, Withholding Tax (WHT), and statutory compliance.
• Familiar with the Companies Act, Bursa Malaysia, and Securities Commission requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO modules is an added advantage.
• Exposure to the IT industry is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
