Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Executive Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team, specializing in interior fit-out construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing specialized fit-out elements such as bespoke joinery, lighting systems, partitioning, furniture installation, and finishes (e.g., paint, cladding, acoustic panels), while maintaining a keen eye on budget and design alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
1.BOQ Generation and Management:
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing specific to interior fit-outs (e.g., joinery, MEP systems, finishes).
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in measurements, cost calculations, and documentation.
- Communication: Acting as a bridge between the HOD/GM/DGM, design team, and contractors to align financial and project objectives.
- Prepare and generate detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on customer requirements, project specifications, and product details.
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQ), and specifications, while evaluating subcontractor quotation and negotiating prices.
- Conduct on-site measurements of completed fit-out elements (e.g., drywall, flooring, ceilings- if applicable) and prepare interim valuations for progress payments.
- Collaborate closely with interior designers, architects, and project managers to align the scope of work with the design vision while maintaining commercial viability.
- Update and maintain BOQ templates to reflect current product offerings, pricing, and technical specifications.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts, ensuring all costs, variations, and claims are reconciled at project closeout.
2.Sales Support and Coordination:
- Assist the sales team in preparing quotations, proposals, and tender documents.
- Act as a liaison between the sales team, clients, and internal departments (e.g., production, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth order processing.
- Track and follow up on sales orders to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Value Engineering: Recommending cost-effective alternatives for materials or methods without compromising quality or design intent.
- Procurement Support: Assisting in supplier and subcontractor selection by evaluating quotes and negotiating terms.
3.Administrative Support:
- Organize and manage sales-related documents, including contracts, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Schedule meetings, prepare presentations, and assist with other administrative tasks as required.
- Support the sales team in achieving their targets by providing timely and efficient coordination.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveyor / Business Administration/ Construction, Fit-Out, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in interior fit-out construction, with a strong understanding of specialized components, their costs, and trade sequencing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales support, coordination, or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in generating and managing Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM or ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and design teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product specifications and sequence of site work is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standards, materials, and construction methods specific to interior fit outs.
- Familiarity with technical drawings or product specifications.
- Experience in handling tender documents and proposals.
- Multilingual skills (if applicable to your region or customer base)
