Job Responsibilities & Scope:
The Senior QA Engineer will be a key figure in our Quality Assurance department, responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the annual internal audit schedule to ensure full compliance with EASA Part 145, CAAM Part 145, FAA 14 CFR Part 145, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive internal and external audits (including subcontractors and suppliers) to assess adherence to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support the investigation of non-compliance, perform root cause analysis, and oversee the implementation of effective corrective and preventive action plans.
- Act as the point of contact during audits conducted by regulatory authorities (CAAM, EASA, FAA, etc.) and customers.
- Maintain and amend the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and associated procedures to ensure they remain current with regulatory changes.
- Monitor updates to airworthiness regulations and advise management on potential impacts on the organisation.
- Promote and support the company's Safety Management System (SMS), encouraging a robust safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, quality performance metrics, and present findings to senior management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
We are looking for a candidate who not only meets the technical requirements but also possesses the right mind set to excel in a high-stakes aviation environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical/Aircraft Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related technical field.
- Possession of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License (AMEL) would be a significant advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within a Quality Assurance or Compliance Monitoring role in a Part 145 approved maintenance organisation.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience dealing directly with aviation authorities, specifically EASA, CAAM, CAA China, Japan CAB and the FAA.
- Formal training in aviation regulations (e.g., EASA Part 145, SMS, Human Factors) and formal auditor training (e.g., AS9100/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Expert knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA/CAAM/FAA/CAAC/JCAB Part 145, etc.).
- Proficiency in auditing techniques, root cause analysis, and quality management principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- An unwavering eye for detail is essential for this role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
- Confident and capable of leading a team and making critical decisions.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrates the confidence and decisiveness to effectively act as the deputy to the Compliance Monitoring Manager.
