Job Responsibilities & Scope:

The successful candidate will be a key figure in upholding and advancing our safety culture. The role encompasses the full spectrum of SMS and Quality Assurance activities within our dynamic MRO environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage, maintain, and continuously improve the organization's Safety Management System in compliance with EASA, CAAM, FAA and various NAA requirements.
  • Manage the internal safety reporting system. Lead and conduct thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, and hazards to identify root causes and contributing factors.
  • Perform safety risk assessments and analysis. Develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
  • Plan and execute internal QA audits (product, process, and compliance) to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Prepare for and facilitate external audits by regulatory authorities (EASA, CAAM, FAA and various NAA requirements).
  • Develop and deliver SMS and Human Factors training to all levels of staff. Actively promote a positive and just safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret safety data to identify trends and potential risks. Prepare regular reports on safety performance for the management team and Safety Review Board.
  • Assume the responsibilities and duties of the SMS Manager in their absence, including representing the department in high-level meetings and making critical safety-related decisions.
  • Maintain and update all SMS and Quality Assurance documentation, including manuals, procedures, and records.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for a proactive professional with a commitment to aviation safety and the drive to excel in a multi-regulatory environment.

  • A Diploma or Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or a related aviation field.
  • A Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance License is highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an aviation Quality Assurance or Safety role, preferably within a Part 145 MRO environment.
  • Formal training and certification in Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Auditing (e.g., Lead Auditor), and Aviation Human Factors.
  • Proven experience liaising with aviation regulatory bodies such as CAAM, EASA, FAA and etc.
  • In-depth understanding of Part 145 regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SMS framework, principles of hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety investigation techniques (e.g., Bowtie, 5-Whys).
  • Strong ability to analyze complex technical information and safety data to produce clear, concise reports and effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present findings and conduct training for diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with safety/quality management software.
  • An unwavering eye for detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all tasks.
  • The ability to act with impartiality, objectivity, and confidentiality is paramount.
  • A forward-thinking individual who can independently drive safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Capable of building constructive working relationships at all levels of the organization to foster a robust safety culture.
  • Demonstrates the confidence, decisiveness, and temperament to effectively act as the deputy to the SMS Manager.
